Serge Dubs, Best Sommelier in the World, AIVA sponsor of the 2020 class.
Serge Dubs. A name that evokes supremacy in the world of sommellerie. Best Sommelier of France in 1983, of Europe in 1988, then of the World in 1989, Serge Dubs has nothing left to prove.
In 2004, he became President of the French Sommelier Union and Vice-President of the International Sommelier Association.
With millions of tastings under his belt, Serge Dubs possesses an incredible knowledge base. And yet, he perpetually continues to practice and consolidate his expertise. A never-ending passion.
Joining the Auberge de l'Ill in 1972 at the age of 19, he was taken under the wing of Jean-Marie Stoeckel, named Best Sommelier of France in 1972, who entrusted him with the keys to the sommelier's expertise. A few years later, in 1976, he became Head Sommelier at the Auberge de l'Ill.
He pursued his passion through competition. A sportsman at heart, his titles are due to considerable work and a desire to always excel in everything he undertakes.

Serge Dubs will be the patron of our students this year.
He will speak at the sponsorship ceremony on September 9th and will give a lecture on the art of sommellerie and his knowledge in November.
Certainly, some wonderful moments are in store…
