The Level 3 Award in Wines is the advanced WSET certification, designed for professionals and enthusiasts who already possess a solid knowledge base. Delivered over five days at AIVA, the International Wine Academy in Landersheim, Alsace, it teaches participants how to accurately evaluate wine and master the factors of its production, from terroir to bottling — an internationally recognized level.
This level 3 training, recognized nationally and internationally, is aimed at professionals or enthusiasts who already have a solid base of wine knowledge.
Upon completion of this training, you will be able to accurately evaluate a wine by using your knowledge.
You will also discover the key factors involved in wine production, from terroir to bottling.
WSET courses are listed in the inventory of certifications of the National Commission for Professional Certification (CNCP). The International Wine Academy in Alsace is one of the few French centers to be an approved WSET program provider. If you wish to finance your WSET training through France Travail, the Region, or your company's OPCO (Skills Operator), please contact us.
There are no specific prerequisites to join this training program.
However, we recommend this training to those who have good knowledge in the field of wine, to those who wish to perfect their tasting methods, or to those in professional retraining wishing to work in wine.
The training takes place over five 7-hour days at AIVA's site in Landersheim, Alsace. An intensive and friendly format, ideal for discovering wine without having to commit your schedule for several weeks.
Around ten wines, specially selected for the training, are tasted throughout the day. Each tasting concretely illustrates the styles, grape varieties and analytical methods covered in class.
Each participant receives a WSET booklet: full details of the course, explanatory photos, vineyard maps, vocabulary and methodology, as well as blank pages for your tasting notes.
AIVA school premises are fully equipped to accommodate a person with a disability. Depending on the type of disability, we will implement the necessary measures and adapt our teaching conditions.
