Alsace Premium Label Competition 2021

The International Wine Academy hosted the first edition of the Alsace Premium Label Competition. 

 

The International Wine Academy hosted the first edition of the Alsace Premium Label Competition on January 26, 2021.

Winegrowers from the Alsace region were invited to offer tastings of their 2018 vintages of Riesling and Pinot Noir.

The tasting committee consisted of 4 renowned sommeliers:

Caroline Furstoss, Thierry Meyer, Romain Iltis and Jean-Baptiste Klein.

They had to judge, in a blind tasting, more than a hundred samples sent by around fifty winegrowers.

MBA Wine & Spirits Marketing and International Trade students were able to participate in the organization of the competition.

They were also able to talk with the selected winemakers to learn about the philosophy of their estates, their ambitions and their specific characteristics.
